Meet Pete...

I have been on the look out for a puppy...a specific breed and color, and during a search on goLSN (a website with lots of pets, located here in KY and TENN) I found an ad for just the dog I was looking for...

A Chocolate Lab...His name is Pete, and the funny thing was that the owner lived right here in Burkesville...AND with further reading I found out It happen to be my cousin that had the dog for sell (really cheap)

So after a conversation on the phone with him Saturday, we made arrangements to pick up Pete....the owner was working alot, he didn't have much time to spend with the dog and had to keep him tied, he has had him since he was 9weeks old he is now almost 2yrs old and still growing.

You see we had a dog once a very crazy, steal the neighbors shoes, bite the neighbors goat, ate the neighbors kitten, unstable very over protective different dog...but we had to give her away...Ahem..

The kids were so excited when we brought Pete home and he had been tied for about eight days so he was ready to run and play (and drag me through the yard) so without further adue...Meet Pete!!! I'm sure you'll be seeing alot more of him...(and hopefully the neighbors won't see him at all)

It's Prom Time...

Saturday was a busy day at the Salon, it is that time of year again for updo's, lot's of hairspray, bobby pins by the millions, and endless tanning bed visits....decisions, decisions...up or down, curls or straight, poof, or lots of poof the list could go on and on ( and believe me it does) Just a Note to all of you out there in blogger land, your hairdresser has fears, we do think to much sometimes like the night before prom I was panic stricken...Did We have bobby pins? So all night I dreamed we had no bobby pins and every store Chas and I went to were out....crazy? yes, but very true!
Just so you know the salon was stocked with bobby pins galore, and with curling irons heating, dryers running, combs teasing, hairspray flying, camera's flashing, girls giggling, and Maria and Chasity taking extra dose of Tylenoltaking it all in with ease...we made all the girls sparkly and beautiful! (They are all beautiful without the sparkly too)
So here are a few pictures from our day...it makes me feel old to see these girls going to there Senior prom, I hold them all near and dear to my heart,( we have had good hair days and bad hair days together:))

*NOTE TO GIRLS* Thank you for allowing me to do your hair for this special day I love you all and I am very proud of each one of you!

Tying knots and saving a life (kinda)

I was scolded by my Mother because I haven't posted anything new in awhile...My excuse? I was waiting on pictures...But since I have yet to get them I'll do the post without them...

Well where do I start?

Well Sister got married Sunday....It was quiet a surprise since we don't breath without talking to each other...But I am sooooo happy for her!!! It was just her, Daren, and the boys (and Jade)

Small, but the most important people were there, I thought it was so sweet, they said their vows, kissed, signed the papers, and loaded up and went to Allen's basketball banquet (What a way to throw a guy into the whole family thing hu?)

Daren and Melissa left this morning for the Great Smokey Mountains for their honeymoon and will be back sometime Sunday.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So The same Sunday that Sister got married Husband and I dropped Chad (my oldest) Off at Mom and Dads so he could ride his dirt bike, (It has been in the shop for about two months now....new motor) and Husband and I went to Wal-Mart to do some grocery shopping....We stopped back by Moms to pick Chad up and I knew the moment he walked out of the house....

He got in the truck and said "I broke my front brake on my dirt bike."

If you have a child that has a dirt bike or go cart, you know it is always something...but he had only had his bike back for TWO DAYS!!

Before I could say anything he said "Mom it wasn't my fault (never is)"

This was what he told us..

He and a friend were down at the park riding their motorcycles, and two guys and a girl had dropped they're kayaks in the creek a few miles above where Chad and Lance were, the creek runs right by the park and where the boys were riding (*NOTE* The creek was up we had a few days with lots of rain)
When the people got to the spot where Chad was the girl's kayak flipped over, she was seatbealted in and could not get out or flip the kayak back over, so the guys (While trying to get to her) saw Chad and started yelling for him to help, he dropped his dirt bike (That is how the brake got broke) and helped her flip the kayak back over!

Now I must say in my mind I thought he had really taken time to think that one up, but as we were driving home low and behold what did I see fighting the crazy current in the creek to the right of the road...Yep, the three people he had told us about, and the girl looked like a drowned rat, wet hair, wet cloths, paddling like a mad woman!! And Chad yelling and pointing the whole time "THERE THEY ARE!!"

So I guess this time I'll let the whole brake thing slid..(GRIN)

Blessings!!

Allen's leg..(ick!)

The Itsy Bitsy Spider....

If you viewed my last post, you know we all got together Easter Sunday at Sisters house for a cookout. All that afternoon Allen wanted to go fishing, and Chad my oldest decided to go with him...

Allen got a bite on his leg, while fishing...

He came home Tuesday night with a fever and the bite seemed to look red, so Melissa took him to the doctor Wednesday morning where it was determined that he had been bitten by a spider...

A Brown Recluse Spider..

He was given a shot (which he didn't hesitate to say hurt...alot) of antibodics, and then given more medicne to take.

By Wednesday afternoon the redness had spread from the bottom of his knee (the bite is on his shin) to the top of his foot...

When he came home from school today his leg was swollen and the swelling and redness has went to his ankel...it looks very nasty!

He has a n appointment tomarrow morning to go back and let the Doctor have a look see...so I'll give you an update on what they say tomarrow night, please remember him in your prayers. Blessings!

Appendectomy and Taxes...

For some reason I thought that having your appendix removed fell somewhere under a childhood age. I'm not sure why...maybe I thought after a certain age your appendix swiveled up and went away (I'm not even sure what purpose they have)

My Dad and Mom went with some friends Thursday to Nashville Tenn. to see a Musical and half way through the show my Dad started feeling bad, by the time they got home that night he was in a great deal of pain. He went to the Doctor the next day (which means he really feels bad) and the next thing my Sister and I know Mom is calling saying he has to have surgery to remove his appendix....He had the surgery this morning and all went well, they did a Laparoscopic Appendectomy which they say is a lot easier on the patient...My Husband and I stopped by the Hospital tonight on our way to get our taxes done (which some would say they would rather have an appendectomy than get their taxes done) Daddy was doing well, he was getting up to walk when Tony and I was getting ready to leave poor thing, he was moving VERY,VERY SLOW at a good little shuffle pace down the hallway, his nurse said the more he walked the better he would feel. He cracked me up in his draftylovely hospital gown, dragging his IV poll down the hallway, with Mom holding his hand (that folks was a kodak moment) Hopefully if all goes well he will be home tomorrow.
And yes we got our taxes filed today, I am such a procrastinator. I hate the paper work, I am not an organized person....but they are done. Blessings!

MOODY ME....

Does anyone out there ever have "moody me" days?

If your answer was no, then go away....(just kidd'n)

I have been very, very ,very just a touch on the moody side today....

I had told Miss I can't quit smiling, look what a good mood I'm in, sister, I just wasn't feeling good today and I think I might skip church tonight....

BUT....I didn't I went...I got something out of the lesson...I needed it to get the Moody out of Me...

When we (Chad and Chase) got into the truck to leave church tonight Chad started talking about what they had learned about, I was puzzled...was this MY teenager or did someone else's kid just get in the truck with me?

My point being, he herd the message....If I had stayed home tonight being moody he would have missed it...
I understand to some this is not a big deal...but for me, the lesson we had at church tonight didn't stop when I walked out the doors ,it spoke loud and clear to me when I got into the vehicle with my boys...

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you
and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned
Nor shall the flames scorch you." Isaiah 43:2
