What's your goal?

I had a conversation many months back with a close friend of mine, the conversation hasn't left my mind since....

God never ceases to amaze me how words from others can change ones heart...

There was a point in our conversation where I ask her the question "So what's your goal?"

And her face softened and her eyes squinted almost as if she could cry ,she placed her hands on her heart and said....

"I just want to make a difference."

I can't really tell you what we said in the rest of the conversation because her words struck me so...
Over the last few months our conversation has played and replayed in my mind...Her answer to my question...those seven simple words changed the way I look at so many things.

I think many of us get up each morning with many thoughts racing through our minds like:

"Shew it's Monday...."
"I wish I had one child that knew where there shoes were...."
"How in the world am I gonna get off work to ball practice and cook supper in 20min?"

But how many of us wake with the thought "I just want to make a difference today."

God has called each of us to make a difference in someones life we all have opportunity's It's up to us to take the time..

My Daughter spent 4 days in the Hospital last week with a UTI, Strep throat and tonsillitis...It was a very long week, but because people choose to take time they made a difference in our life...They took time to stop by and pray with Cassie and I, they took time to send cards, flowers, balloons (which made Cassie so happy) I had one night that I ran home to cook supper for the boys and got a phone call as I walked in the door from a friend who had cooked supper for us and was bringing it to our house (which made the boys happy..) My parents took turns to stay at the Hospital so I could go home and sleep for a few hours and the hospital staff went above and beyond to make us as comfortable as possible....

Each one of them made a difference in my life last week. They showed Gods love by taking time...
God has challenged my heart through my friend's statement...

His question to me daily has been "Are you ready to make a difference?"
And I pray that my answer will pack as much passion and conviction as my friends did.

As you open your eyes in the morning I pray that your first thought will be "I just want to make a difference today."

Blessings
