Redemption

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

It's a story of redemption.

We all have our own story our own scars to bear. Some of us think about them everyday not always meaning to but we do.

~lots of bad choices
~people...people are very good at reminding you of all your wrongs
~it could be a place, a song or even a smell that will make you wench at your past

My scars were never visible but they hurt all the same and for many years I would revisit how unworthy I felt I was how many people in my life I had disappointed never feeling like I could measure up to the expectations of others.

And then there were those who prayed...

They never gave up on me and spent day after day speaking words of encouragement into my life. Reminding me God still had a call on my life and despite how I felt he still loved me.

That's where John 3:16 comes in.
The definition of redemption :Deliverance upon payment of ransom; rescue.

No matter how many times I got it wrong, no matter how many people still whispered......

For God so loved me he paid my debt, took my guilt and rescued me.

On Sunday my Daughter did a special song at church I had no idea what she was singing it happen to be one of my favorite songs and it reminded me once again...

I am redeemed.

He can do the same for you.

Blessings,
M

While you were sleeping

After endless vitamin C thoughts and loads of hand sanitizer I still managed to catch some sort of "bug" I felt myself going down hill Friday afternoon at work managed to make it home throw some food to the kids and honestly couldn't tell you what went on in this house all weekend.
I have vague memories of NyQuil and Z packs and do remember waking up with Cassie in my face saying "Just making sure your breathing Mom."  how thoughtful of her.
As much as I would think that it couldn't my family survived without me for a few days Husband kicked in and did the laundry and believe it or not no one died of starvation. I do remember loud voices and something about a deer and a dent in the truck and off and on revving up of some unknown vehicle outside...
When I awoke from my slumber Chad Allen told me he had hit a deer (actually the deer hit him) while taking his girlfriend home he said I went out and looked at his truck the night it happen I remember none of that. Thankfully they were ok his truck has some dents but that can be fixed.
And somewhere during my slumber my Son decided to trade his GSXR 750 aka crotch rocket. Understand when he purchased this bike I was not a happy Mamma I begged him not to buy it and when he brought it home I nearly passed out so after a new paint job and some tweekes he decided to trade it (answer to prayers)
So when I walked out in the yard this is what I found....

Shew...Boys...

WOW...this makes me feel sooo much better

At least it's not a street bike but seriously?

 Lesson Learned:
~Kids can survive on ham and cheese loaf
~Our family can throw down some serious viral what-what around here
~I'm ready for it to go away

Blessings!

Can anyone Say Tamiflu?

It all started over the weekend when Cassie started getting sick.....

Went to the Doctor.

She has the flu.....

My mind went to panic mode as this is a problem in my home of many children.
I load up on Lysol, Clorox wipes, bleach, anything that will keep everyone else from getting it.

Day two.
Chad Allen text me to say I need to come sign him out he has a really bad headache and his stomach hurts.

Kid #2 down.

The grand puke fest begins on this day.

Something you must understand about teenage boys...they eat like horses and even tho they are sick at their stomachs they still feel the need to eat. So Chad eats and 5 min later..

Chad pukes..... aka:
~Organic Output
~Leggo yer eggo
~Emergency stomach evacuation
~Chuck your cheerios
~Bring it up for a vote
~Abdominal Voorheaves
~Hack
~Hag
~Harf
~Heave
Whatever you choose to call it..it was vile.

So I do what every good Mother does and rolled up my selves armed with bleach cleaner and scrubbed the bathroom down.
Then I boiled my hands.

Day two at night around 11ish

Cassie now has a pounding earache to accompany the flu and Chad is still puking.
I am still cleaning everything in sight and boiling my hands.

Day 3 around 3am ish in the morning

I had been asleep maybe 20min. Chase enters our room and says "Mom help" and runs out my room towards the kitchen I stumble out of bed run into the kitchen and slide across the kitchen floor.

Wanna guess what I stepped in? (barefoot)
Yep..puke.

I cleaned up the trail which started in his bedroom and ended in the kitchen and then I boiled my hands and my feet.

Kid #3 Down.

Day 4..I'm at my breaking point.
Debated whether or not I could make  rubber boots and a hazmat suit a fashion statement.
If I could fit myself into the dishwasher and turn the switch to sanitize.
I was feeling a little on the OCDish side...this was bad really bad.

Day 5 1am in the morning and I am happy to report I haven't seen puke today...

I think Chad and Cassie are feeling better and Chase is get'n there.

I am now off to fill my bathtub with hand sanitizer and soke.

Word of advice get a flu shot.

Blessings

Hang On

What we will see will only last for a short time, but what we cannot see will last forever.  2 Corinthians 4:18

2013 has arrived and for many of us we have gladly said so long to 2012. I myself have faced many struggles in 2012 some of which I left behind and a few I have managed to bring with me into this new year, and asking "Seriously God? How long is this going to last?"

For some of you, the journey has been long.Very long and stormy...In no way do I wish to minimize the struggles you have had to face along the way. Some have shouldered burdens that few of us could ever carry. You have bid farewell to life-long partners, parents or siblings. You have been robbed of life-long dreams, and have been given bodies that are breaking down way before the warranty is up. You have family who can't tolerate your faith and make you feel misunderstood. You have bills that outnumber the paychecks and challenges that seem to outweigh the strength...

And you are tired.....

Its hard for you to see the City in the midst of the storms..the light at the end of the tunnel. The desire to  pull over to the side of the road come to a  screeching halt and get out entices you.
You want to go on, but most days the road seems to long....

Much to long to work overtime.
Much to long to fit in a story after bath time.
Much to long to listen to a friend on the other end of the line go on and on about her long road.
Much to long to spend extra time reading your Bible.

Let me encourage you.....God never said that the journey would be easy, but he did say that there is light at the end of the tunnel and the arrival would be worthwhile.

Trust him my friend because what we can't see will last forever! Blessings!

My blogging skills haven't been the greatest in several months...life has just been busy. I miss blogging I really do..I also miss sleep, days off and vacation (none of which I have seen in a long time) I did have the 4th of July off and spent the day with my family at the park in Burkesville Did I mention my Daughter was ask to sing the National Athem at the opening ceremony? I will admit I was very nervous for her she sang the song acapella...I will also admit that I ask her repeatedly if she was absolutely sure she remembered EVERY word and reminded her she wouldn't want to be on you tube the next day with Christine Aguilera  and so many others who had no idea what the words were...and right before she went on ask her why in the world she was so nervous (guess I had a little to do with that)

I am happy to report she nailed every note and word! It was literally all I could do to keep myself contained...I really think you should hear it for yourself to get the full effect.

Blessings,

Lessons

Phone call this week-
"I need you to pick child A and child B up at school, they are being sent home...nothing major just a scuffle but they do have to go home for the day."

Me (when I get to school): "So do I get a prize?"
Principle: "A prize for what?"
Me: "Well I think I have set a record...I don't know of any parent who has to pick two kids up in the same day."

Later that day...
My last app. happen to be the Mother of child C whom child A and B got into a scuffle with...(sigh) Lesson learned here boys scuffle and the Mothers of the boys can talk about it and still be friends..I think thats why they call us grown ups.

Ford Explorer motor blew up....Husband switched to driving the Ford Ranger... transmission went out on it the next day, and the lesson here is don't by anymore Fords.

I can promise you that my week was packed full of many more challenges that I am not at liberty to blog about but God has shown me it's one day at a time. I am reminded of my Mothers words "This too shall pass."
And it does, sometimes not as quick as I would like it to but God is in the mist of it and I know he is in control!
Blessings!

Sneak Peak

Back in the good'ol days I had a new post up and ready for you to read at least once a week..seems the older I get the more I have to do and the good'ol days are long gone.

Running a house that contains four children requires many hours lots of laundry, feeding and watering them running from point A to point B feed them, one gets sick that means not one but four visits to the Doctor's office and did I mention you must feed them?
Thus Husband and I work many hours to feed them...speaking of working I have a new extra job that I happen to love. I now work for Silver Chest Creations they make jewelry out of silverware. We are in the process of putting up a new web site  that I will run (manage web site pack and ship out orders) I also make our speciality necklaces. Be sure to stop by and visit us at http://www.silverchestcreations.com/

Sooo if you have wondered where in the world I have been I've been making jewelry and taking pictures for the web site like a wild women and you my friend get a sneak peak of some of the pictures that will be featured on the new web site! Here Goes hope you enjoy!

Stay tuned! We are going live with our Web site this week!! Blessings! M

Changing Direction

Changing direction.

It can be a painful process sometimes..

If you consider the speed you are going when the directon changes.

I have found in my life my direction hasn't always been perfect and thus plunging forward at break neck speed a change in direction can flat out hurt..

Example: Once when I was little I wanted to go to the store with my Sister and one of her friends (nameless friend you know who you are) they on the other hand did not want me to go. To get to the store you cut through the neighbors yard and through a field..so they thought they could run and loose me, but I was fast and on they're heels burn'n a trail right behind them (at break neck speed) until I realized they jumped up in the air and I didn't BHAM!! I was clothes lined by an electric fence..it was painful (well it didn't last THAT long but lets just say Sister and nameless friend took me to the store after that and I might have played on the big red mark on my neck for days..but who remembers that was so long ago)

The sudden change of my direction was painful I was so focused on catching up with them I totally missed the electric fence right infront of me that put me flat on my back.

Sometimes we are going at such a break neck speed we loose our focus..the whole reason we started in that direction.

Changing direction in life is not tragic.

Losing passion in life is..
Something happens to us along the way convictions to change the world downgrade to commitments to pay the bills..
Rather than make a diffrence we make a salary..
We trade our smile for a scowel, and give the ones we love the most a def ear.
Instead of looking forward we look back.

Then..BHAM!!

Thats useally when it happens, the break neck speed and lose of focus clothes lines us and lands us flat on our back..

What to do when we are in such a place? The Bible has a scripture for that..

12 I do not mean that I am already as God wants me to be. I have not yet reached that goal, but I continue trying to reach it and to make it mine. Christ wants me to do that, which is the reason he made me his.13 Brothers and sisters, I know that I have not yet reached that goal, but there is one thing I always do. Forgetting the past and straining toward what is ahead,14 I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to the life above. Philippians 3:12-14
Get up..dust yourself off..focus on your new direction and press on.

Blessings!

Pop's early Christmas present from Chad

My Dad recently received a early Christmas present from my Son Chad.

Chad had called Daddy ahead of time and ask him if he wanted the particular gift and Daddy declined....

Chad brought the gift to him anyway.

That's all it took..one look at "Booger" (previously named by his old owner) the bob tailed cat and Daddy was sold...

Booger is now full time entertainment in the Mosby household and Peyton Thomas has a new BFF...

And don't let Nana fool you she is just attached to this cat as Pop is!

The Day with Peyton

Today I got to babysit Peyton (I totally forgot how hard it is to keep up with a crawling baby...)
I took a few pictures and before you say anything...

Yes..those are baby dolls in the floor, don't worry he DID NOT like them...

Yes...he is sitting in Cassie Marie's baby doll stroller, it was the only thing I could find to set him in so I could feed him his baby food...which he regurgitated in the living room floor and then made like a swiffer mop and scooted right through it and cleaned it up..wonderful.

I do love that little boy...

God is Faithful...

Trust Him when dark doubts assail thee,
Trust Him when thy strength is small,
Trust Him when to simply trust Him
Seems the hardest thing of all.
Trust Him, He is ever faithful,
Trust Him, for his will is best,
Trust Him, for the heart of Jesus
Is the only place of rest.

The good ol'l 2000 Ford Explorer, (we refer to her as Bertha) She has taken our little family many miles...

Shortly after purchasing "Bertha" she developed a squeak, it did not affect her ability to get us from point A to point B but it did fiercely embarrass my children they along with the rest of our small town heard me coming waaayyy before I arrived (and on occasion I complained too) we took her to many mechanics and no one could fix the "squeak"

Shortly after the squeak started she began to lock the doors (while we were still in the truck, and wouldn't unlock them) once Husband and I sat in the Mall parking lot for 30min. unable to get out of the truck (I had flashbacks of the old movie Christine..If you've seen the movie you understand if you haven't...never mind)
We had to pull the fuse so her doors would no longer lock....

At the beginning of summer I loaned her to the boys, to go to the creek...they returned and the next morning when I got in the truck to go to work "Bertha" smelled "creeky" (not sure if that's a word) The hotter it got outside the worse the smell became....four days later I found a crawdad very dead, very stinky under the seat...It is still up for debate how that happen....

Bertha's tires were worn..wire hanging out of the tires worn (and my checking acc. was on empty...did I mention I have three teenage boys to feed..who can afford 4 new tires?)
Bertha hit 175,000 miles three weeks ago and my Son Chase said "Mom, you need a new car."
It was then That I explained that I refused to go into debt for a new car, that God would either have to drop a new car out of the sky or help Bertha to run 175,000 more miles....

Well....

My very hardworking Husband was recently put in a drawing for a new car at work....

He won the car....

I am still in awe at God's faithfulness.

And just in case you wondered "Bertha" will remain in the family...I've grown quite fond of her and I believe she just might make 175,000 more miles....

Father's Day video

Because you loved me...

Sunday, June 19, 2011

For you my heart will forever be thankful...

"Watch it now."

"Because I said so."

"Get off the phone...I'm on call." (That was in the old days kids...long before call waiting.)

"Be careful where you step." (that could be advice given on life or when we were in the barn feeding cows...)

"Pull my finger." (mom's gonna love that I added that one..)

"Maria Hunt Mosby!!!" (yes my middle name is Hunt...)

"I love you."

Those were a few of the many famous quotes spoken by my Dad growing up. I still hear the last one everyday, and for that I am thankful...

It's very hard to put into words the Love that I have for my Dad, but I'll try...

Strong- I couldn't begin to tell you the strength he possesses within...he holds everything together.

Caring- I have never met a more caring soul...

Soft hearted- He may look mean, but trust me if you cry he will too...

He loves my Mom with all his heart.

He will swim to the end of the ocean and back for his girls and he loves his grandchildren like no other.

Dad, Thank you for all you are, thank you for loving me and Melissa everyday always...no matter what we went through you stood beside us hand in hand and said "we'll get through this."

And we did...

Thank you for teaching us to Love God with all our heart and to stand for those that had no one else to stand with them...

Your love and example in life has seen us through so much and for you our hearts will forever be thankful...Happy Fathers Day! I love you!!

Randomness...

Things have been really busy around here lately, The Salon is running wide open no slowing down in sight...I think most women will starve before they let their hair color go (no complaints here)

My sixteen year old son is running wide open since he got his license, and my mind has not rested since...if you have a child old enough to drive you understand if you don't you will soon enough...

Lots of Graduations Cassie is moving on to the 6th grade, and Chase will be going into the 9th grade so I will now have one in Middle School and 3 in High School (I am requesting prayer in advance...)

Cassie's first piano recital, she hit every note, the boys declined to show up for it because they said they had heard the song a gazillion times...they knew how it went already....

Garden time on Beech Grove Road and Husband and I got it all planted (except for peanuts...those go in the ground tomorrow..something new we are trying...) in one day
Cassie Marie painted markers so we would know what was where...the kid loves to paint!

So this post is to catch you up on whats been going on around here...and of coarse there are a few new pictures of Peyton too...

Shew!! That was alot of pictures!!

Blessings!
